Errors in HuntedGift usually appear as red notification messages in the top-right corner or, in rare cases, as a full-screen message. Most errors are temporary and resolve with a quick retry or refresh.
Common error messages and what they mean
Search limit errors
"No searches available. Searches are used when gift suggestions are provided."
You've used all your daily AI searches for your plan. Free users get 3 searches per day, Pro users get 20, and Elite users get 100. Browsing saved gifts, wish lists, and community ideas doesn't use searches—only generating new AI recommendations counts against your limit.
Your searches reset at midnight (your local time). Upgrade your plan for more daily searches.
Connection and network errors
"Failed to get response. Please try again." "Connection Error. Failed to connect. Please try again." "Failed to load/create/delete chat"
HuntedGift couldn't reach the server. This happens when your internet connection drops or the server is temporarily unavailable. Check your WiFi or mobile data, then retry. If the error persists for more than 5 minutes, the service may be undergoing maintenance.
Rate limit errors
"Rate limit exceeded. Please slow down and try again in a moment."
You're sending requests too quickly (usually by clicking buttons repeatedly or refreshing rapidly). Wait 30-60 seconds, then try again. This is different from your daily search limit—it's a temporary slowdown to protect server performance.
Sign-in and account errors
"Account already exists. This email is already registered. Please sign in instead."
You tried to sign up with an email that's already in the system. Go to the sign-in page and use your existing credentials, or reset your password if you've forgotten it.
"Sign in required to save gifts"
You're browsing as a guest. Create a free account at app.huntedgift.com to save gift ideas, create wish lists, and track your searches.
File upload errors
"Invalid file type. Please upload an image..." "File too large. Please upload an image smaller than 10MB"
HuntedGift's chat feature accepts images up to 10MB in JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP format. Compress large files or convert unsupported formats (like HEIC or BMP) before uploading.
Form validation errors
"Invalid email address" "Password must be at least 8 characters" "Passwords don't match"
Your signup or password reset form has missing or incorrect information. Look for red text below input fields showing exactly what needs fixing. Passwords require at least 8 characters with one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
Green checkmarks appear next to password requirements as you type, making it easy to see what's missing.
What to do when you see an error
Read the message carefully — Most errors explain exactly what went wrong and how to fix it.
Try again — Click the button or retry your action. Many errors are temporary network hiccups.
Refresh the page — If retrying doesn't work, reload your browser. This clears temporary glitches.
Check your inputs — For form errors, look for red text under input fields and correct the highlighted issues.
Wait a minute — If you hit a rate limit, give it 60 seconds before trying again.
Full-screen "Something went wrong" errors
If you see a large error screen with a warning icon and the message "Something went wrong," HuntedGift encountered an unexpected problem. You'll see three options:
Refresh Page — Reloads the current page (fixes most issues)
Go Home — Returns you to the main gift search page
Report this issue — Opens a feedback form to send diagnostic details to the support team
If you see this error repeatedly on the same page, use "Report this issue" to alert support, then click "Go Home" to continue using HuntedGift.

Errors prevent you from completing a purchase or subscription change
