AI Accuracy & Gift Recommendation Quality

HuntedGift's AI generates personalized gift recommendations by analyzing the details you provide about your recipient. The more specific your input, the better your results. Here's how our AI works and what to expect.

How accurate are the gift recommendations?

Recommendation accuracy depends on the quality of information you provide. The AI uses your recipient description, interests, occasion, budget, and any uploaded images to match gifts from thousands of real products.

For best results, include:

  • Specific personality traits and hobbies (not just "likes music" — try "plays acoustic guitar and loves folk music")

  • Budget range and occasion details

  • Multiple interest categories from the badge selector

  • Style preferences or reference images

Vague inputs like "my friend" produce generic suggestions. The more detail you share about interests and personality, the more personalized your recommendations will be.

Do humans review the results?

No. Recommendations are fully automated and generated in real-time by AI. When you start a chat, the AI instantly searches across curated gift databases and returns matches without human review.

However, the gift products themselves come from a curated library of "real-loved gifts" — items that have proven popular across brands and stores, not random listings.

Are the gift links real products?

Yes. Every gift recommendation links to a real, purchasable product from major retailers like Amazon. When you click a gift card, it opens the retailer's page in a new tab with live pricing and availability.

Where gifts come from:

  • Free & Pro: Curated products primarily from Amazon and major brands

  • Elite: Expanded access includes products from eBay, Etsy, and additional multi-store inventory

Gift links take you directly to the retailer's checkout. HuntedGift doesn't sell products — we connect you to trusted stores.

Why did I get a strange or unexpected gift suggestion?

Unusual suggestions typically happen when:

  • Input was too vague: "Someone who likes reading" might return broad categories. Add genre preferences, favorite authors, or reading habits.

  • Conflicting filters: Selecting incompatible interests or extreme budget constraints can produce unexpected results.

  • Limited inventory: Very niche combinations may fall back to loosely related items.

  • Search limits exceeded: If you've hit your daily search quota, error messages may appear instead of recommendations.

If you see "No gift ideas found," try widening your budget range, adjusting interest filters, or providing a more detailed recipient description.

What happens if the AI gets it wrong?

Start a new chat with more specific details. Each search refines based on the information you provide in that session.

To improve results:

  • Add personality details beyond basic interests (e.g., "minimalist who values experiences over things")

  • Use the occasion and budget sliders to narrow the scope

  • Browse the /ideas page for curated categories and filter by recipient type, age, or occasion

Currently, HuntedGift doesn't have a feedback mechanism (like thumbs up/down) to train the AI on individual preferences. Each search is independent.

Are gifts curated or auto-generated?

Both. The AI auto-generates personalized recommendations in real-time during your chat session by matching your input to a curated database of thousands of proven, popular gift products.

Two sources:

  • AI Chat: On-the-fly recommendations pulled from the full curated library based on your conversation

  • /ideas Page: Pre-organized, browsable collections filtered by category, gender, age, and occasion

Think of it as AI-powered personalization applied to a hand-picked inventory of real-loved gifts — not random auto-generated spam.
