How do I delete my account?

You can permanently delete your HuntedGift account anytime from your profile settings. This removes all your data immediately and cannot be undone.

Account deletion is irreversible. All your gift lists, wish lists, search history, and profile data will be permanently deleted with no way to recover them.

Deleting Your Account

1. Go to your Profile page from the sidebar menu

2. Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account (red trash icon), or open the Account section and click Delete Account

3. Read the confirmation warning carefully

4. Type DELETE in all caps in the text field

5. Click Delete Forever or Delete My Account Forever

6. A 5-second countdown starts—click Cancel Deletion if you change your mind

If you don't cancel, your account is deleted immediately. You'll see a "Your account has been deleted. Goodbye!" message, be signed out, and redirected to the home page.

The confirmation button stays disabled until you type DELETE exactly (all uppercase). This prevents accidental deletions.

What Gets Deleted

Account deletion removes:

• All saved gift lists and wish lists

• Your complete search history

• Profile information (name, username, email, preferences)

• Any personalization data the AI uses

This happens immediately and cannot be reversed. There's no recovery option or grace period.

Subscriptions and Billing

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Pro or Elite subscription. If you have an active subscription:

1. Cancel it first from Profile > Manage Subscription (opens Stripe billing portal)

2. Then delete your account

You won't receive refunds for unused subscription time. See Managing your subscription for cancellation steps.

If you just want to downgrade to the Free plan instead of deleting everything, cancel your subscription and keep your account. Your data stays intact.

Troubleshooting

"Please type DELETE to confirm" error: Make sure you're typing DELETE in all capital letters, not "delete" or "Delete".

"Failed to delete account" error: Try again in a few minutes. If it continues failing, contact support for help.

Need a break instead of permanent deletion? You can just stop using your account. Free accounts have no monthly charges, and you can cancel paid subscriptions anytime.
