Hunted Gift collects some data to personalize your gift recommendations and improve the service, but it's designed with privacy in mind. Personal information you provide (like your name, saved gift lists, and chat conversations) stays linked to your account. Analytics data about how people use the service is anonymized so it can't be traced back to you.
You can control data collection in your account settings, export your data, or delete your account at any time.
What data gets collected
Hunted Gift collects two types of data:
Personal information you provide:
Account details (name, email, password)
Payment information (processed by Stripe)
Your chat conversations and gift preferences
Saved gift lists and recommendations
Device and usage data (browser type, pages visited)
Anonymized analytics data:
Gift categories, budgets, and occasions people search for
Interaction patterns (clicks, searches, time spent)
Aggregated trends across all users
Hunted Gift does NOT collect government IDs, precise location data, biometrics, recipient names from your chats, or IP addresses.
How anonymization works
When analytics data is collected, your identity is cryptographically hashed. This creates a one-way transformation that can't be reversed to identify you. The data is then aggregated with other users' data to spot trends.
Raw event data is kept for a maximum of 90 days, then permanently deleted. Only aggregated insights are retained long-term.
Cookies and third-party tracking
Hunted Gift uses several types of cookies:
Essential cookies: Authentication, security, and preference storage
Analytics cookies: Contentsquare tracks page views, clicks, scrolling behavior, and masked session recordings
Functionality cookies: Features like chat support
Third-party cookies: Crisp (customer chat), Stripe (payments)
The service also uses Google Gemini AI to generate recommendations. Your preferences, budget, and occasion details are sent to Gemini, but no personally identifiable information is shared and your data is not used to train their models.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings or email [email protected] to opt out of analytics tracking.
Managing your privacy
You have control over your data:
Opt out of analytics: Go to your profile settings and toggle the data collection option
Export your data: Download a JSON file containing your profile, lists, gifts, and chat history
Delete your account: Request deletion through your account settings; data is removed within 30 days
